#265 Summertime Analytics: Predicting E. coli and West Nile Virus



Lake Michigan and outdoor recreation are enjoyable aspects of summers in Chicago, but it can come with risk of potential E. coli in Lake Michigan or West Nile Virus from mosquitos.

This summer, the City of Chicago launched two new predictive analytics projects to forecasts the risks and to proactively limit these risks. Members of the research team, Tom Schenk Jr., Gene Leynes and Nick Lucius will discuss the projects and how they’re being used as part of city operations.

ASL This event will have an American Sign Language interpreter.

Food Food and drinks will be provided. We encourage attendees to bring their own water bottles to reduce waste.

We will have our 37th Chi Hack Night Leadership Council at 8pm after the group breakouts get started. This meeting is for discussing new ideas and ways to make the hack night better. Anyone is welcome to join!
