#291 Alya Adamany Woods, ChicagoNEXT

Following our February speaker series for Black History Month, we will be celebrating Women’s History Month at Chi Hack Night! Throughout the month of March, we will feature presentations from prominent women in tech and civic life here in Chicago.

This week, we welcome Alya Adamany Woods, Executive Director of ChicagoNEXT at World Business Chicago.

ChicagoNEXT is a dedicated effort to drive growth and opportunity in Chicago’s technology community, governed by a council of industry leaders. Their initiatives include grantmaking through the Blackstone Inclusive Entrepreneurship Challenge, attracting tech investment through the Chicago Venture Summit, and building up Chicago’s talent pool through ThinkChicago.

A veteran in Chicago policy, business and tech, Alya’s talk will focus on a broad question: As Chicago’s tech community grows up, what is the role of government and nonprofit partners in ensuring equitable access to our innovation ecosystem?
