Chicago Public Library (CPL) welcomes and support all people in their enjoyment of reading and pursuit of lifelong learning. In its 80 locations, CPL strives to provide equal access to information, ideas and knowledge through books, programs and other resources throughout the city. As the Chief of Technology, Content and Innovation at CPL, Michelle Frisque ensures that the technology, collections, innovation framework and data support the library’s mission and strategic plan.
Michelle’s talk will explore the role that technology plays in supporting and advancing the libraries mission and the path Michelle took to become a librarian and technologist. She will explore how combined, these skills allow her to oversee an expansive system of public and staff computing, oversee the library’s digital strategy and the evaluation, introduction and dissemination of new technologies.
