#359 Illinois Legal Aid Online
Illinois Legal Aid Online (ILAO) is a nonprofit organization that uses innovation to lower barriers to the law so that people can understand their legal options, make informed decisions and represent themselves in court when they cannot afford a lawyer. ILAO puts the law within reach for all Illinois residents by simplifying our complex legal system and connecting people to legal information and assistance on ILAO’s website, IllinoisLegalAid.org.
Amy Clark, ILAO’s Community Engagement Manager, will discuss ILAO’s role in increasing access to justice. Gwen Daniels, ILAO’s Director of Product Development, will discuss how IllinoisLegalAid.org is building on its wealth of high quality legal information by moving toward a platform that coaches and supports users in understanding when their problem is a legal one, making informed legal decisions, and taking actionable steps to resolve their legal issues.
ASL This event will have an American Sign Language interpreter.
Food Food and drinks will be provided. We encourage attendees to bring their own water bottles to reduce waste.
