Presenter

brittany bennett, Data Director @ Sunrise Movement, she/her

Meeting the urgency of the climate crisis is one of the greatest moral imperatives of our time. One organization meeting that need is the Sunrise Movement, a US-based national youth movement dedicated to building the people and political power to pass a Green New Deal. Sunrise Movement believes that the Green New Deal can simultaneously create millions of good, union jobs and stop the climate crisis in its tracks.

brittany bennett is the inaugural Data Director of Sunrise Movement where she leverages data analytics to understand how the movement builds power and win. At Sunrise, brittany built the infrastructure that enabled Sunrise to train over 12,000 people during the pandemic, reach 6.5 million voters during the 2020 election, and mobilize tens of thousands of members in actions.

In this talk, you will learn about what it means to do data for climate, how data can be used to drive effective organizing, and how Sunrise built a powerful data team.
