#626 In-person and Online: Digital Equity with “Retired” Computers

Since 1998, PCs for People has refurbished over 400,000 devices which were contributed by corporations, colleges, government entities, and other organizations. They have diverted over 23 million lbs of e-waste from landfills while equipping underserved communities with the tools needed to succeed in a digital world.

Area organizations with 15 or more computers to contribute can request pickup here. Low income households and nonprofit organizations can learn about getting computers here.

This event will be in person, but you can also tune in via livestream. Doors open at 6pm. The livestream and announcements will start around 6:30pm CDT.

In-person: TechNexus, 20 N Upper Wacker Drive, 12th Floor, Chicago IL. Enter the Civic Opera Building using the entrance in the middle of the block between Washington and Madison streets. Take the elevators to the 12th floor.

RSVP In-person attendees should RSVP beforehand. As occupancy limits permit, walk-ins will be allowed to enter.

There will be food! We will be serving Costa Rican empanadas, chicken casado and rice from Irazu!
